Jean Lumb Award

The 29th annual Jean Lumb Awards will be our largest offering yet, presented to outstanding students who have achieved excellence in the following areas:

Awards for students currently in high school, in any grade:

Awards for student athletes in any undergraduate college or university program:

Awards for students pursuing Medical school:

Family Medicine Residency

University of Toronto Medical School

Toronto Metropolitan University Medical School

McMaster University Medical School

Medical School (All Other Schools)

The deadline for all scholarship applications is May 25, 2026!


Eligibility

You must be:

Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Chinese heritage

Enrolled full-time in any grade in a high school or secondary school in Canada for the high school awards

A student-athlete in undergraduate studies at college or university for the Athletics (College or University) award

A Family Medicine resident, or accepted into Family Medicine residency, for the Family Medicine Residency award

Enrolled in Medical School for the various Medical School awards


Value

$1,500 per high school award

$3,000 for Athletics (College or University level)

$5,000 for the Family Medicine Residency award

$3,000 for the Medical School awards


Judging

Our panel of judges evaluates and selects the winners. The award winners will be contacted by August 31, 2026. It is important for all applicants to check their email on or after August 31.


Deadline

The deadline for all Jean Lumb Award scholarship applications is May 25, 2026. Your application form, and all supporting documents, must be submitted by 11:59 PM ET on May 25, 2026.
